Winter Jackets 2012
Winter goes a whole lot faster with a good book (or several!).
From January 17 through February 29, your metro public libraries encourage you to spend some of our cold, snowy nights and weekends checking out some books and sharing your reactions as part of the Winter Jackets Reading Program.
There are also some great opportunities to hear your favorite metro area authors reading from their work at a library near you. Check out the calendar to find upcoming Winter Jackets author talks. And, as always, your friendly and very knowledgeable librarians are available to give you suggestions on some new reading/listening options based on the kinds of genres and writers you enjoy.
Also, this is a great opportunity to learn about a wonderful online resource, NoveList Plus, available at all of your metro public libraries. NoveList Plus helps you answer the question, "What should I read next?" by asking you questions designed to create a customized reading list based on your interests. You can access NoveList Plus via your library’s website, using your library card bar code, or visit your library and ask a librarian about this resource.
Don't forget that there are more possible reading formats to choose from than ever at your metro public libraries – audiobooks (CD or downloadable MP3 format), downloads for your e-Readers (iPad, Kindle, etc.), and the always popular print books!
Fill out a review form to share your reactions to the books you read/listen to as part of the Winter Jackets program. Review forms are available at your neighborhood public library, or feel free to print as needed from your library's website. Hand your review forms in at your library.
