Introduction to Library Service, Day 2

This is a great opportunity to learn about library structure in Minnesota and to get competencies and contact hours for certification.

Prerequisite: Day 1 and homework

This course is required for the Minnesota Certification Program and qualifies for 5 contact hours.

Learn about the theory and philosophy of libraries nationally and in Minnesota. "Introduction to Library Service, Day 2" includes a discussion of the homework from Day 1 and additional presentations on the mission of libraries, the funding for libraries, and the library in the political process. The homework from Day 1 focuses on the Minnesota Statutes relating to Libraries, Core Values of Libraries, Intellectual Freedom, and your library's community.
