Located in historic Bandana Square, the Twin City Model Railroad Museum is an exquisitely detailed model panorama of railroads in the Twin Cities during the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Come watch the trains speed along miles of tracks through a scale model of the Twin Cities rumbling over St. Anthony Falls on the famed Stone Arch Bridge and down the Mississippi. Then, stay and play with Thomas and his friends on our two Thomas train tables! Thousands of volunteer
hours have faithfully reproduced Twin Cities railroad history in O Scale (1/4 inch equals 1 foot), an impressive sight and well worth your visit. With roots dating back to 1934, our mission is to provide family entertainment for the young and old alike, while preserving this era of Minnesota railroad history.

It was fun but small, Lasted about an hour and half. Great for children of all ages. |

My 1 1/2 year old was entertained for an hour and a half! Amazing for such a small area. (It is worth the trip to walk around the building itself.) |

We took our 5-yr.-old grandson to this museum, and he loved it. He especially liked pushing the buttons to make the trains stop and the lights flash. As a fan of Thomas the Tank Engine, he also enjoyed playing with the Thomas toys. |

We had no idea this museum even existed until reading about it in our museum pass brochure. My 3 year old son was in train heaven here! We had a great afternoon watching the trains. Even my husband and I thought it was neat to see all the detailed replicas put into the displays. |

The model train museum was wonderful. My 17 month old loved it. I really appreciated that they had perfect places for the little children to stand. He also really liked pushing the buttons to make the train go. I would not have known about this museum if it weren't for the Check Out a Museum program. Thanks!! |

The night trains totally rock! They turn off the overhead lights and light up all the trains. There are model "fireworks" and a "Christams Train" and Thomas engines for the kids to play with at the end. A pure delight for all ages. We go every year and are never disappointed. |
