Minnesota’s rich past comes to life at The Landing - Minnesota River Heritage Park. Explore this village on the Minnesota River and experience the people and culture during the settlement years of the 1800s.

Passes are limited to general exhibit admission only. Passes may not be applied towards educational and group tours. Special exhibitions and other attractions may not be covered, and other restrictions may apply.

Oct 17 Well, I went on a school trip and we got to do so many cool things, and learn about history in a fun way. I saw what chores, fun and games, school, food, and so many other things were like when I went! I would defiantly suggest going!

Minnesota Heritage Weekends (formerly “Live-it History”), Weekends May 31 until August 24
Saturdays, 10am–5pm & Sundays, Noon–5pm
Experience the excitement and challenges of life along the Minnesota River in the 1800s. Meet the residents of Eagle Creek and the frontier. Help them with their daily chores, play games, attend school and participate in 1800s era craft demonstrations. Ride the trolley pulled by Percheron draft horses. Many buildings open for touring. Food service available most weekends. Museum Adventure Passes accepted, otherwise admission is: Ages 12+, $8.50; Ages 3-11 and Seniors $7; Children under 3 are free.

Pa and Me Day, Sunday, June 15, Noon-5pm
Treat your Pa and the whole family to a day of old-fashioned fun. Swing your partner to music by the Whistle Pigs String Band. Enjoy an 1860's baseball game between the Quicksteps and Rochester Roosters. Take a ride on a trolley pulled by Percheron draft horses. Gift shop and food available for purchase. Dads get in free with one paid admission. Museum Adventure Passes accepted, otherwise admission is: Ages: 12+, $8.50; Ages: 3-11 and Seniors $7; Children under 3 are free.

Independence Celebration, July 4, 10am–5pm; July 5, 10am–5pm; July 6, Noon–5pm
Celebrate America's birthday with the settlers of Eagle Creek. Experience festivities of the 1800s by marching in a parade, playing croquet, throwing horse shoes, churning ice cream and much more. Defend the town's honor in a base ball match against the mighty Quicksteps (July 4 only). Gift shop and food available for purchase. Museum Adventure Passes accepted, otherwise admission is: Ages: 12+, $8.50; Ages: 3-11 and Seniors $7; Children under 3 are free.

Early Minnesota Trades, August 2, 10am–5pm; August 3, Noon–5pm
Come visit the many artisans polishing their skills at Eagle Creek Village. From blacksmithing to woodworking and spinning to weaving see how lives in early Minnesota were sustained by the tools of the trade. Take a ride on a trolley pulled by Percheron draft horses and play games. Special appearance by musician Ross Sutter both days. Gift shop and food service available for purchase. Museum Adventure Passes accepted, otherwise admission is: Ages: 12+, $8.50; Ages: 3-11 and Seniors $7; Children under 3 are free.

Eagle Creek Fair, August 30, 10am–5pm; August 31, Noon–5pm; September 1, 10am–5pm
Join the farmers and townsfolk of Eagle Creek as they celebrate the fruit of their summer labors. Ride the trolley pulled by Percheron draft horses and earn prizes in games of chance and skill. Temperance rally in the Town Hall. Appearance by the 5th Regiment of Minnesota Volunteer Infantry. 1860s base ball match between Quicksteps and Afton Red Socks (September 1 only). Museum Adventure Passes accepted, otherwise admission is: Ages: 12+, $8.50; Ages: 3-11 and Seniors $7; Children under 3 are free.

Minnesota River Hike, September 27, Noon–3pm
Enjoy an early fall hike through the Village of Eagle Creek and along the Minnesota River. Join a guided tour of several buildings. Enjoy light refreshments, music, and warmth of the fire. Dress for the weather and walks among buildings. Enter site through west entrance. Museum Adventure Passes accepted, otherwise admission for all ages is $7.

36th Annual Folkways of the Holidays, Weekends in December
Saturdays, 10am–4pm & Sundays, 11am–4pm
By horse-drawn trolley, visit historic 19th century homes of the Minnesota River Valley each with culturally distinct decorations, crafts and folk art performances. Dress for the weather, last admission one hour before close. Museum Adventure Passes accepted, otherwise admission is: Ages 12+/$8.50; Ages 3-11 and Seniors/$7. Ages 2 and under free.
