Learn all about Twin Cities railroads during the 1930s, '40s and '50s
through spectacular reproductions of streetcar systems, passenger depots,
freight yards, and amazing representations of surrounding areas
including St. Anthony Falls Milling District, the Saint Paul Midway area,
and the river bluffs of Southeastern Minnesota. This exquisite detailed
model panorama that showcases Twin Cities railroad history in O scale
(1/4 inch equals 1 foot) has been created by thousands of volunteer
hours since this non-profit museum’s beginnings back in 1934.

The night trains totally rock! They turn off the overhead lights and light up all the trains. There are model "fireworks" and a "Christams Train" and Thomas engines for the kids to play with at the end. A pure delight for all ages. We go every year and are never disappointed. |

The model train museum was wonderful. My 17 month old loved it. I really appreciated that they had perfect places for the little children to stand. He also really liked pushing the buttons to make the train go. I would not have known about this museum if it weren't for the Check Out a Museum program. Thanks!! |
